Review of the Super 8 Hotel Victoria

We were pleasantly surprised when we arrived at this hotel. Our room was clean
and spacious. The price was low enough to fit in our budget. The proximity to
downtown was excellent. Additionally, they had just finished construction on
their latest restaurant, bringing the in-house restaurant total to three.
There's a diner open for breakfast and lunch (they gave us a free breakfast
there), a sports bar downstairs open in the evening (complete with card and pool
tables), and now a fancier restaurant as well. This hotel is a good value for
the money. We would definitely stay there again.

This was a great hotel... we stayed for a week and loved it! Yes the elevator is
small... and it's on a noisey street but the kindness off the staff totally make
up for it...we stayed in a plain Jane room which looked to be newly renovated
and had no issues! Overall a decent hotel for the budget traveler.

The elevator was smaller than most hotel coat racks. The room a/c unit ran hard
all night, but the heat from the hall and gap below the door neutralized its
cooling affect. I later blocked the gap under the door with a pillow and towels.
That worked well. The room was fine for the price. It was nice to have the mini
fridge, microwave, coffee and toaster. We rode motorcycles and the desk staff
let us park in the spaces by the front door. That was very nice.

Just returned from a visit to Victoria where we had a couple of 2 double bed
rooms.
Location: The hotel was slightly away from downtown but since I had taken my car
it was easy to get there. It is on Douglas which is busy but I didn't here the
road much inside my room - maybe I was just tired from the drive and
sightseeing.
Room size and amenities: The room was pretty tight with 2 queen beds leaving
small areas to walk around. there was a coffee maker, iron/board in the room.
The room / bathroom were clean and were just what we needed - a place to rest at
night. If you want to spend more time at the hotel when traveling this is not
the one. the breakfast is basic - The staff were friendly and helpful. |
