The hotel is in suburbia and set in a master planned golf community which is
still under construction. It doesn't have much excitement or atmosphere. If you
stay here, do NOT eat at Kuma Sushi unless you like extreme mayo with your
extremely bad sushi. I have ordered lots of spicy tuna rolls in my lifetime, but
even those a few days old at the grocery store are better than Kuma Sushi's.
Probably the worst of my life!! They did not even have yellow tail, and the
waitress seemed to not even have heard of it. This says it all. My son liked his
teriyaki chicken though.

Our room was lovely and the view was incredible. Ask for a room with a valley
view on a higher floor. The rooms also have kitchenettes (refrig and microwave),
so, if you're tired of eating out, you can go to the local grocery and cook in.
The beds, as in all Westin hotels, are so comfortable! We also enjoyed the spa
which has a good steam room and a great outdoor hot mineral pool . It's a short
drive from here to most of the Victoria attractions, and I found it enjoyable to
see the city and then come "home" to the country. Another plus - the staff were
all very polite and helpful. I loved the deer everywhere too.

It's easy to be good value when you're using your Loyalty Program points and
it's only costing 60CDN. But the location is amazing as are the rooms. It
appears to be some (and the clue is in the name) residential resort complex with
a hotel thrown in.
Pool area is good but appeared to be a giant creche for the ladies who lunch of
Vancouver Island.
Dinner was excellent and very reasonably priced. Great location for a
jumping-off tour around Victoria and Vancouver Island in general.
Lovely spot.

This hotel is relatively new. It's a beautiful property and the rooms are very
nice. However, for this quality of hotel, they really need to pay more attention
to the little details. Also, it's a bit far from downtown Victoria, so wouldn't
recommend it if seeing Victoria is your main reason for being there. Can't
comment on the value, as we were using Starwood Rewards, but I can say that my
husband, who is a business traveller, was decidedly unimpressed. We found the
following:
-dirty towel on the back of the bathroom door upon arrival
-decorative bowl on the table hadn't been dusted in a while
-had a kitchenette, but very little in it
-housekeeping put dirty dishes on the floor outside our room, but nobody ever
came to pick them up. No sink in the kitchenette, so we called to the front desk
to let them know we needed clean dishes, but still nobody came
-garbage in kitchen never emptied
-it was a hot weekend, so we had A/C on. But balcony is unusable unless A/C is
turned off, otherwise you get blasted by hot air from the large vent facing the
chairs
-for some reason, they didn't install standard hotel safes. Instead they seem to
have purchased home safes that are not designed to ask for a new code when a new
guest uses the room. Found the safe locked when we arrived, & had to get someone
up to open it. Then tried to use it ourselves, but there were no instructions on
the safe, and ended up locking it again without having put in our own code. Had
to get someone up to the room once again.

I stayed at this resort with my family in August 2010. The resort is a golf
resort and if you are a golf player this is the place to go. (Although I am not
a golf player and cannot say anything about the courses)
Also when you want to explore the nearby lakes with your family its the right
spot. For Victoria visitors i would recommend another hotel because its a 20-30
minute drive to go there.
We liked the hotel because its so spacious. Its clean , quiet, and modern. The
views are great and there is always this sense of tranquility.
The service i would rate as good but not outstanding.

Was at Bear Mountain to attend Randle Golf School, so stayed here for the
weekend.
Beautiful property and service was ok. Found the restaurant staff fairly
unaccommodating so travelled into Victoria for suppers most nights. Fairly
pretentious here, but if you are looking for a higher-end place to stay, it's
good.

Very nice location. Comfortable, large room with two bathroom and mountain view.
Disappointing housekeeping and front desk assistance.
The housekeeper tried to make up our room by noon, but we had the DND sign
hanging on the door and left a message to call Express service for rescheduling
the service.
My husband and I left the room at 2 pm after calling the Express service asking
for housekeeping.
We came back at 8 pm and the room was still un cleaned.
Another call to the express service. Another no show of the housekeeper.
Finally, at almost 9 pm, my husband called again asking for at least fresh
towels and a guy showed up with the requested towels.
Not so good for a 5 star resort.

Our room was spacious and comfortable. The bed was truly heavenly and the
ensuite was awesome. Had trouble with our check-in as the hotel key would not
work and we had to retreat back to the lobby. The hallway was messy with room
service trays left out for the entire day. The resort was quiet with lots of
amenities. Food was good at the pub restaurant but the service was awful.
Location is secluded from the rest of Victoria area with huge residential
community surrounding golf resort. Enjoyed the room and would recommend.
