Highly recommend it: Excellent Price (advance pay saved
us $$), excellent location on the water front, excellent
service, room, everything.
The city of Victoria is simply delightful, we arrived in
late July on the day of the Symphony Orchestra festival
which was a spectacular event culminating in fireworks.

The views are nice from this hotel, and the location is
not bad. The reservations staff indicated to me that if
I wanted a hotel room on a higher floor that was likely
to be quieter, I should get a very costly 'Signature"
room. It turned out to be on a lower level (the fourth
floor) and the benefits--a continental breakfast, and
evening hors d'oevres--were such poor quality food that
I finally skipped both. The hors d'oevres is particular
tasted like the kind of frozen appetizers you buy in
bulk at a supermarket. The concierge never answered the
phone, and when I asked for tourist information I got a
one-page map, even though they had some tourist
literature available at another desk. On my next visit
to Victoria I stayed at a B&B for less money, and was
much, much happier with my experience.

Booked this through Expedia and got a great deal. Have
been to Victoria many times; this was our first stay at
Delta Ocean Pointe. The location is great - 10 minute
walk to the inner harbour where Empress and Parliament
buildings reside. We checked in early, having arrived
for my husband to paddle in Dragon Boat festival. Room
wasn’t ready but we did pre-registration and were able
to park; the staff said they’d call when our room was
ready, which they did. The room we received was on the
main floor and smelled like smoke, though the hotel is
non-smoking. We complained and even though they were
fully booked, we were given another room, this time on
the 5th floor, and with a harbour view - an upgrade from
the previous room. TIP: always inquire before hand if
the room you are being assigned was once on a smoking
floor - unless everything is replaced the smell never
goes away. The hotel staff were friendly, the bar staff
accommodating - my husband spilled his martini after
only a few sips and it was replaced at no charge. The
evening turn down service was lovely with chocolates on
the pillow, beds refreshed, water bottles supplied and
soothing music on the radio. I would go back and
recommend.

We liked this hotel. It is in the bay, a wonderful
location. For the kids they have an indoor pool, nice!
Ask for a room with a harbour vieuw, definitely worth
it! The rooms are fresh and clean but the interior is
not that special. (A little bit older and faded). The
staff is friendly, we got a free upgrade that gave us a
room with a wonderful view! It is about a 10 minutes
walk to the city but you can also take a watertaxi!

I was totally amazed that the Delta was the same price
as the Days Inn and the Delta had a great view of the
harbour while the Days Inn had a room for the same price
with no view! It was also less than the Best Western.
The difference is that the Delta requires a walk to get
to where all the attractions are. I personally don't
mind a short walk and was so happy we checked out the
Delta. Rooms were good and the view was so awesome!

Wall paper coming off the walls and the furniture was in
tribal shape.
Paid an extra $8o dollars to have an ocean view of the
harbor.Got up to my room opened up the window blinds to
pigeon droppings all over the window ledge what a
disappointment to look out of the window as well dirty
finger prints all over the light switches. If you happen
to need Internet you will be very upset at the speed as
well.
I`m not sure how old this hotel is but the shower looked
like my first house I purchased 30 plus years ago.

To enter the lobby of the hotel and see this huge
panoramic view of the Bay is just breathtaking! You
actually walk down a few stairs to a grand terrace with
view on the bay, and from there easily walk to downtown
Victoria. I wouldn't call it luxurious, but very
elegant, both rustic and modern.
The room was somewhat on the ordinary side, but the bed
was very comfortable. The hotel staff was very friendly
and the concierge even kindly took the time to help me
with my checkout when he saw I was waiting in line at
the Guest desk, which is great.
Service at the restaurant was subpar, but the food
excellent (we had Sunday brunch).
A bit expensive, but overall no disappointment at all!

The bathtub was kind of plugged, water did not really
drain properly. The room is kind of small and our view
was facing the inside of the hotel. This is probably the
entry level room charged at $170.
The pole of the restaurant dining area had some snort
smear on it.... I think that is kind of disgusting. We
stayed there for 1 lunch and that is it. I had to agree
though the food quality was very good. Just the place is
not so clean whether it is the room / restaurant.
I wished I knew Victoria places better before booking
this hotel. This hotel is definitely not Clipper
friendly / close to downtown. It is true that that it is
within walking distance to downtown / Clipper terminal
but I would say a good 25 min walk is needed from the
ferry terminal to get to the hotel while other hotels
are more like within 10 min walk.
They do have a shuttle but out of 3 shuttles requests,
only 1 turned out good. For the 1st one, we had to wait
25 min in the ferry terminal before it showed up. The
2nd shuttle service was great. We put in the request and
within 5 min a shuttle showed up and took us to some
downtown area. The 3rd shuttle service was no good. The
hotel person told us there is some parade in some street
so we had to take our luggage's from hotel to ferry
terminal by ourselves. As we walked our way to the
Clipper Terminal, I don't think any of the street was
blocked. That was a heavy duty 25 min walk with
luggage's hauling behind our back.
