Abigail's is the perfect hotel for one, two, or small groups. The beautifully
decorated rooms are clean, quiet, and spacious. Staff are friendly and attentive
and make every effort to ensure that guest’s stay exceed expectation (which they
do!). The food was incredible and I commend the two breakfast chefs who make
each and every breakfast to guest preference. The convenient location of
Abigail’s is a pleasant walk to Dallas Rd, Beacon Hill, and downtown.
I would highly recommend Abigail’s to all Victoria visitors (and residents) who
are looking for a classic Victorian-style hotel.

We stayed for 2 nights (and 2 delicious breakfasts!) at Abigails. The staff was
super-helpful and friendly, but unobtrusive. In talking with GM NIck, it appears
we got the last room in the house as they were booked solid over the holidays
but it was still a fantastic room, clean, quiet - the enormous tub and rain
shower were worth the price alone. The breakfast was gourmet and the chef and
staff made sure we got it just how we wanted it.
Thanks for a great stay!

At Abigail's, the staff is caring and helpful. The rooms are bright, beautifully
decorated with comfortable beds. The gourmet breakfast is prepared by a chef who
will personalize to your request. It is located in a cul de sac and walking
distance to shops and restaurants.

My husband and I arrived way before check-in on Christmas day. Understandably
our room was not ready. No big deal, it certainly wasn't the hotel's fault that
we were so early. The young man at the front desk told us that we could leave
our bags and check in later. He offered us the use of the library. He also
mentioned that we were welcome to have some coffee and waved us over to a
general area. So far, so good. We were freezing so we went into an area where
there were tables and some people eating. We sat and asked for coffee from the
waitress. While we were waiting for it, the man from the desk came over to us
and said to my husband "sir, you cannot order breakfast." It was said loudly
enough that the people at both tables near us turned around to see what was
going on. We explained that we had no intentions of ordering breakfast, that we
had requested coffee. Then this guy goes and has a word with our waitress. I'm
assuming that he was making certain that she did not part with a morsel of hotel
food. They were both standing there looking at us. This matter was handled
extremely poorly and the manner in which my husband was addressed was
humiliating. We stayed two days and never set foot in that area again. Of course
that meant that we never partook of that oh so special breakfast that junior was
so zealously protecting ! It set a sour note for our entire visit.
In addition, on the second day we were there it was obvious that the bathroom
had not been cleaned very well. There were still several strands of my hair in
the bathtub. There was also face powder that I had accidentally spilled still on
a ledge of the tub. Our room smelled like an old thrift store. It smelled old
and stale. Despite the fact that it was the middle of winter I had to open
windows to air it out.
I read all the rave reviews and agree with some of them. We did have several
very pleasant interactions with a young man who was a Dan Akroyd lookalike. He
was genuinely friendly and helpful. His self important co-workers could
certainly take some lessons from him on graciousness and kindness. Overall there
is no way that I would ever recommend this B&B to anyone.
