Hotel review of the Chateau Victoria Hotel and Suites

This is my regular place to stay when in Victoria. There are lots of other
choices, some better, many worse, but I keep coming back to the Chateau
Victoria... I feel comfortable there.
It is a great location to walk to many different places for food, shopping, or
entertainment. The staff is great as is the on-site restaurant and lounge. The
beds are a bit on the firm side for me - good but not perfect. The room actually
had a comfortable sofa but the TV could be larger. The room is very quiet and
the heating/cooling system worked fine so a good night sleep is easy.

We were looking for a last minute trip to Victoria. A friend told us about
Chateau Victoria. I called Victoria Clipper and they were so helpful. It was
very inexpensive. We bought a package with the Clipper tickets and 2 nights at
the hotel. The hotel has a free shuttle that will come pick you up and take you
back to the port. The driver was very nice and told us about different things to
do while we were in Victoria. The hotel is just a few blocks from the port but
it was a little cold so we took the shuttle. When we checked-in everyone was so
helpful and nice. We had booked a standard room but they upgraded us for free to
a junior suite on the 12th floor. The rooms are older but very clean. The beds
were comfortable and the bedding was not the normal hotel bedspread. It was a
nice, fluffy comforter :) The living room area had a nice tv and so did the
bedroom. It had a kitchenette and stove with dishes if we needed it. The
restaurant downstairs was nice but a little spendy. The restaurant upstairs was
very nice, too. The food was great especially the eggs Benedict! I had it both
mornings. There isn't a spa in the hotel but they have spa services that will
come to your room. My husband surprised me with a Swedish Massage. It was
wonderful! Check out was easy, no problems the whole time we were there. The
only think that would have been nice is if we could get movies in the room. You
can only do that in the living room. We like to relax in bed at night and watch
movies. There are lots of restaurants, pubs, and shops in Victoria. The mall was
nice, too. We went to a restaurant called Cactus (I think that's the name) it
was very nice. The spicy chicken tenders were the best and not too spicy! Our
last day there we went to a pub called Darcy's. It's down by the water. Everyone
is very friendly. They had the hockey game on and the owner kept coming over
talking to us. He was very nice, too. They also have a nightclub upstairs which
we will check out the next time we are there. Overall, it was a great experience
and we will more than likely stay here the next time!

Really enjoyed our stay here and the room was very big (junior suite). The
location is right in the heart of
Downtown and the staff are friendly. The area was fairly quiet (for
downtown) so no worries about street noise. The only issue was the bed was
supposed to be a queen but I don't think it was. We have a queen at home and it
is bigger than the hotel queen. But that is a minor minor thing. Hotel was
great, two amazing restaurants/bar located in the hotel plus very central.
Highly recommended.

This hotel has amazing service, staff and wonderful little surprises, like the
driver service?! Wow, I did not pay for 1 cab for the entire week. " Call me
when you want to be picked up..." I heard over and over. I borrowed a stroller,
I was given accurate advice, perfect directions and I could have not had a
better experience. The view from the roof top restaurant was amazing as well.
The maids went above and beyond even doing my dishes and coming back while I was
out. Always fresh sheets and towels.. I really could go on and on. I have
travelled across Canada ( Victoria to Halifax ) and this was the best experience
for a week stay across the entire country. I have already booked another
vacation and plan to stay here again!

Our third visit in as many years, and the place is still outstanding. From the
moment of arrival through a bright, pleasantly furnished lobby, greeted by
genuinely cheerful receptionists through the entire stay. One of the best things
is its location. Can hardly be better. A block and a half from the harbor, where
in the summer there is free entertainment. Good eating places all around, from
the modest Noodle House half a block away, to the unbeatable luncheon place,
Sam’s Deli ($8.50 for soup and sandwich) another half a block away. To the
possibly best restaurant, The Mark, at the other side of the harbor a ten minute
walk or a free hotel shuttle ride—back and forth.
And the Chateau Victoria itself. As
clean as can be. It’s got to be the best value around there. For the price of a
single room in the surrounding name plate hotels you can get here a spacious
1-Bedroom Suite, some even with a kitchenette. Ask for a higher-up 03 suite. If
you want to splurge or travel on expense account, go for a penthouse, it will
make your visit to beautiful Victoria complete. We’ll go back—even without a
penthouse.
