Review of the Days Inn on the Harbour Victoria
Nov 25, 2009
We travel to Victoria on a regular basis to visit family and enjoy the city of
Victoria. We find the location of the Days Inn perfect. The staff is excellent,
from booking in to eating, to housekeeping. We stay at this hotel often and look
forward to coming back. We bring our dog with us and find that this hotel is by
far the best we have been able to find that allows animals. The area is perfect
for long walks being close to Beacon Hill Park and the Cruise Ship Terminal. For
sure two thumbs up for the Days Inn!!!

Wife and I went for the two days, with my elderly in laws. They thought the
property was "deluxe", but they tend to be very thrifty! It was perfect for $85
Canadian - I wouldn't have paid more, although this was a "special" Very
convenient, nice view, bed comfortable, etc. Room could have been cleaner, but
it was acceptable. We didn't have much reason to interact with the staff, but
what little we did - they were very nice, helpful, etc.

The Days Inn right across from the ferry terminal is a good, clean, inexpensive
stay. Very convenient to harbor attractions, good restaurant with outdoor
seating with harbor views, friendly staff, free parking lot for guests. Try to
get a room on the third floor for the best view.
If you are taking the ferry to Port Angeles you can park your car in the ferry
line right across the street after you buy your ticket. Get some breakfast to go
from the hotel since you will have to wait in the parking lot one hour before
the ferry leaves because of customs regulations. The harbor is a bustling
place-a symphony played from a barge while we were there during British Columbia
weekend. There is a totem pole park close by, dozens of seaplanes flying in and
out. The Empress Hotel is beautiful, as are the Parliament buildings. If you
arrive by ferry from Vancouver city, there is about a 40 minute drive to
Victoria from the terminal on the north side of the island. Butchart Gardens are
on the way to town from the Vancouver ferry terminal so you will save
backtracking if you stop there before reaching Victoria. Allow several hours for
these gardens and be prepared for lots of walking and lots of camera shots.

We were very happy with the proximity to Port Angeles ferry service and with the
low season pricing. We also highly recommend the Days Inn at Tofino, BC where we
spent 2 nights in September. Excellent restaurant in a beautiful setting. Great
2 night low season rate including breakfast and dinner from the regular menu.

It had a great view of the harbor and right across the street from the ferry. We
were running late for ferry and tried to get the continental breakfast to go and
were told they don't do that here. I finally did put it in a napkin. I thought
the hotel was good it had a nice bar and friendly staff. I thought it was great
that we could just walk across the street and get right on the ferry. I will
stay there again when returning to Victoria BC. The food was pretty good and the
drinks were pretty good and reasonable for what other hotels and restaurants
were charging. I paid way more for another hotel down the street and the bed was
awful and didn't even have a view.

It is close to everything. The restaurant food wasn't all that great. My husband
and I have been staying at the Days Inn whenever we get to Victoria for years.
We stayed there when it was called the Swiftsure. It has always been good. We
like it because it is close to downtown and we can just walk to where we want to
go.

Victoria is a lovely spot. The Days Inn was one of the reasonably priced
facilities on the harbor (which is where you want to stay). Actually, this four
story hotel is an anomaly among the other huge hotels on the harbor. The room is
nice, showing only a little wear. If you go in hot weather, be aware that the
hotel does not have air conditioning. The staff is somewhat indifferent, but not
a problem. The patio serves a great breakfast. Very convenient to local
activity.

Standard no frills Days Inn. Don't expect plush and luxury and you don't get it.
But for the wonderful location and beautiful views it certainly is worth it!
Right on the harbour and minutes from everywhere. We had an annoying adjoining
door to the next room which made it overly easy to hear the neighbors. But for
what we expected no complaints except for the lack of temperature control. We
could not control the heat in the room, there was no air con and there was only
a single desk fan which we found in the wardrobe. A ceiling fan would have been
useful!!

We stayed 2 nights at Days Inn Victoria Harbour and we enjoyed every minute. The
view is super, room was nice and clean and perfect in size for the two of us.
Nice bathroom and very close to city center. The only thing we missed was a
fridge. We have stayed at several Days hotels, and this one is in the best 25%.
We would certainly stay here the next time we visit Victoria.

The hotel is situated right on the beautiful Inner Harbor and was close to all
the business venues we were to visit during our stay. It made our stay much more
enjoyable than other times when we had to drive long distances for our
appointments. The location was certainly perfect for our meetings, but as an
added bonus it was in a perfect location for enjoying some of the wonderful
attractions, The Wax Museum, Parliament Bldgs, Imax Theatre and many others. We
loved it!
When we return to the Island and are staying in Victoria, we will not hesitate
to return to the Days Inn, and we will most certainly be recommending it to our
business associates and to friends and family.
