Hotel Review of the Laurel Point Inn Victoria

this was our second time at Laurel Point and its still
the perfect place to stay in Victoria. The Rooms are
spacious and comfortable but its the position that makes
this hotel so special. Overlooking the harbour watching
sea planes land outside your window is a great
experience. We'll definitely be back for a third time!

All I can say is what a fantastic hotel and it was also
worth paying for an upgrade for the view. Bit expensive
on the old room service though. Fab location overlooking
the harbour and great views all round the lobby area.
Excellent and very clean rooms. Food was excellent too.
Easy enough just to drop your park your car and just
walk around Victoria which is very beautiful. Would and
have told several people about it and I've only been
home a few days!

Stayed here for 2 nights in July. We were given a room
on the ground floor, which was not one of the best - but
this was probably due to the type of package we had
booked in advance. The room was directly next to the
path going into town, and so it was noisy at times.
Having said that, the room itself was fine - clean and
comfortable. Staff were friendly and helpful. Did not
use the restaurant, so cannot comment. It was a bit of a
walk into town (10-15 mins) - no problem as the weather
was good. We preferred to be a little away from the
noise of "downtown" Victoria, anyway, and the views of
Victoria across the bay compensated as well.

Stayed here with our BIG dog. Lots of hotels of this
quality limit pets to 10lbs or so. I"ve stayed here
before and got an excellent rate with Victoria Clipper
Vacations. At that time, I saw from the brochure that
they accepted pets. I'd never have known it if it wasn't
in the brochure. The pet friendly rooms are located on
the first floor. Our room had a small patio and great
view of the water. There is a very nice path and park
for walking. The staff showered us (well mostly the dog)
with attention and our room was comfortable, spotless
and quiet. I do wish there were some pet friendly places
you could sit on a patio and have drinks/dinner. We
ordered fantastic Indian take out tho and had it on the
patio. I travel to Victoria often with out of town
guests and have stayed at many other places but this is
where I'll stay from now on...dog or no dog.

My partner and I loved the Inn at Laurel Point, and
would stay there again. The studios in the Erickson Wing
are very well appointed and comfortable, with a huge
bathroom and soaking tub that made coming back each
night a pleasure. The fact that the hotel is a bit off
the beaten track actually made us happy on Day Two as we
left the hectic crowds and noise behind us to return to
our own little oasis near the water. Don't forget to
explore the neighbourhoods near Beacon Hill Park: There
is an ocean walk nearby that is unforgettable ---
paradise! If there was anything at all that I'd say
could be improved about the hotel, it would be the beds.
They weren't terrible, but they were not in the best
shape either ---- too soft and sagging for our taste.
But other than this, we highly recommend these
extraordinary accommodations

Two night stay just before holiday weekend so Inn was
pretty busy but experienced no problems.
Tip: As with any city, hotel parking can be quite
expensive. Found lot a block away (Quebec & Montreal I
think) where for $6.50 CAD you can park for 24 hours.
Lot seemed safe (we left nothing in car), plus you can
come & go as you please (no attendant - you display
ticket on dashboard). We rarely use a car when we're in
Victoria, so this was a great option.

By far the best hotel we stayed in on our recent trip to
the Northwest. We received a very reasonable rate for a
beautiful room overlooking the harbor. The staff was
extremely friend and helpful. The hotel grounds were
gorgeous though some of the interior common areas could
use a bit of an update. The restaurant at the hotel,
Aura, was excellent. I would stay here again without
question.

Its a little tricky rating this hotel but as I book all
my hotels according to fellow Trip Advisor reviews I
feel I have to be honest. This hotel is lovely and in a
wonderful location overlooking the harbour and it really
tries to be deservedly one of the nicest hotels in
Victoria. It is an independent hotel and as such does
not have the financial back up of a chain, so it hasnt
been able to update the plumbing in the old part of the
hotel, which sadly lets it down. The plumbing in our
room was horribly noisy whenever anyone used the
toilet/bathroom in any room around us. The manager was
very apologetic though and offered to change our room to
the newer part of the hotel. Stay here but ask for a
room in the new part.

We just returned from a weekend getaway to Victoria BC.
The city is awesome and the Inn at Laurel Point is an
oasis right on the edge of the bay.
We love to explore and wound up walking the West Bay
Walkway from downtown at the Johnson St Bridge, around
Victoria Harbour, the Inner Harbour and ending at West
Bay Marina in Esquimalt with stunning views all along
the way. Thanks
to the Inn at Laurel Point for a wonderful, wonderful
weekend getaway!

My husband and I stayed at the Inn. Our room was nice.
We stayed in a newly renovated suite. The balcony had a
view of the harbour, which was pretty. The air
conditioner worked great, and the bed was comfortable.
Bathroom was huge and new.

We stayed at the Laurel Point Inn on our trip to British
Columbia and really enjoyed it. The location is
terrific, just off of the Inner Harbor, but an easy walk
to town, but set off enough to be a quiet spot to return
to at night. I don't think you will be
disappointed, and I would recommend it strongly.

We stayed in Victoria for only one night. The hotel
itself was clean, light/airy, comfortable, pretty
grounds with great views of the harbour. you cannot
go wrong with this hotel.

Nice place - staff was excellent and the restaurant has
a nice patio overlooking the harbor. It's also got a
very private feeling
Great destination! Enjoy. |
