Arrived late, got a complementary upgrade to a beautiful room with lots of space
and a small balcony overlooking city. Very big bathroom with good size bath and
double shower, big bed and small sitting area. Staff very friendly and helpful.
City only 3/4 mins walk but no real noise. Did not have breakfast there though
or eat in restaurant as out sightseeing each day. Fee for parking and space
limited.

We stayed at the QV for 3 nights for our anniversary. The Ferry arrived the
first afternoon and we walked the few blocks to the hotel, checked in and were
given an upgrade "due to availability" which was awesome! The staff was very
friendly and the room was great. The pool area very clean and nice. We ate
breakfast at Samuels one morning and our waitress was wonderful. The one
negative was that the traffic and buses are quite heavy on Douglas street so
there was alot of traffic noise but it quieted down later in the evening. They
even arranged for us a complimentary cab ride back to the Ferry the day we left.
A warm thank you to the staff at the hotel for your hospitality!

Our room was wonderfully clean and tidy. Most everything was up to date apart
from the TV. The bathroom and wash basin area were quite new and well done. The
1 queen size bed was comfortable enough but had a very noticeable slant to the
middle.
I must admit that I took for granted that a Hotel in this price range would have
air conditioning, but it didn't. Luckily the weather wasn't above 23C for the
day but we still had to have our windows, no screens, open all night.
We decided to have breakfast there the night after our stay. We both had 2 eggs
with bacon which came with toast and pan fried potatoes. Horribly overpriced and
the food wasn't good. Eggs not done to specs, bacon undercooked, toast had
margarine on not butter on it, ( is it just me that HATES not have real butter
on toast???). Over $30.00 not including tax or tip. Too many other places close
by to eat. I would still recommend the hotel itself, but not on a summers day.
And although our experience with the restaurant was limited I definitley
wouldn't return to eat.

This hotel looked like luxury for the budget conscious on the internet. In real
life it disappointed. The room was a little shabby, but it was the balcony that
was the real shock. It was dirty, sloping and most surprising, the safety
railings were wide enough for a child - or even our teenager - to slip through.
However the location and parking (only $4.00 per night) were great. No air
conditioning. Poor amenities - bring your own shampoo and conditioner if you go.
We won’t be back.

The Hotel was very nice, friendly people and staff (kind of like all Canadians
we met). They tried very hard to be helpful and were in most cases. For example,
we wanted to go to a brewpub and the young staff member sent us to Canoe
Brewpub. It was a perfectly nice place but was full of loud early twenty year
olds. We later found Swan’s (best beer) and Spinnaker’s (best food), both
superior. Overall we had a great time and this hotel is within walking distance
of the whole inner harbor, china town, 2 brewpubs, the legislature building, the
Royal BC Museum, the ferry stop, etc. etc. Great location and a nice clean hotel
room.

We spent one night at the Queen Victoria, on Canada Day. The city was abuzz with
entertainment and its location was absolutely perfect. The room was large,
clean, comfortable, and we had a balcony with a nice view. The split bathroom
was clean and practical. The vanity was especially nice. We also liked that the
overnight parking charge was only a few dollars; free would have been better,
but nevertheless a welcome change from the $20 per night in downtown Vancouver.

Best hotel choice I’ve ever made
After reading negative reviews of hotels included in various Victoria BC
vacation packages I selected this one. It is within walking distance of the
major sights in downtown, the staff was very helpful in tips on riding public
transportation and what to see during our stay. The rooms were wonderful, clean,
and comfortable. We’ll stay there again.

Fawlty Towers?
We had booked the hotel for 5 guests -- 2 adults 3 kids. When we asked for a
cot, we were told it would be an extra $20. We were later told that to unlock
the kitchenette in our suite we would be charged $20, and when we asked for
extra pillows at the front desk, we were told "look in your closet" and were not
offered any extras. The hotel was old but adequate, though there was no air
conditioning. The poor service and hidden extra charges made it not a pleasant
stay. The restaurant on the premises was quite good for breakfast.

Hard beds
Hotel was conveniently located but it was a motel more than a hotel. Beds were
horrible. No air conditioning in rooms.

Good place to stay, a bit expensive but close to everything
Quality of this hotel is good. The mattress was a little small and a bit hard
but the rest of the place makes up for it. The hotel is right across a park, and
close to downtown. The staff is very friendly and I would stay here again.

Great budget hotel in great location
Enjoyed our stay, good location for a quick visit. Staff was very friendly and
helpful. I would definitely recommend this hotel if you’re only in town for a
short visit and want an affordable, quality hotel in a convenient location. :)
