Review of the Royal Scot Suite Hotel Victoria

We only stayed one night - however I really liked this
hotel and will definitely stay again. The location is
great - steps to the downtown core.
But I got to truly appreciate the service only when I
got back home. Apparently, my father forgot his favorite
shirt in the room. We contacted the hotel, they found it
and mailed it to us free of charge. That's how you know
if someone is willing to go an extra mile.
Looking forward to my next stay there.

I booked this room, based on reviews and was glad I
did... but not overwhelmed. Location was perfect coming
in on Clipper from Seattle - one block up and half a
block over (directly behind the only 5 start hotel in
Victoria). Travelled with a 6 year old and a 9 year old
and we were able to walk everywhere. Yes, the hotel is
dated (think 80's brass and pastels) but a junior suite
was more than adequate. I'm sure we could have stayed
longer, quite comfortably. Balcony, small kitchen area,
hide-a-bed and separate bedroom with ensuite bath. It
wasn't some place I'd go on a luxurious romantic
get-away for but location, family, adequate pool/hot
tub/sauna/weight room - plus separate billiards and
games rooms, we never ran out of things to do. Best part
though - front desk staff recommended 2 family friendly
restaurants. Both were absolutely perfect: The Old
Spaghetti Factory and Nautical Nellies. Might have
stumbled around without that recommendation. Thank you
Royal Scot!

Great location with a decent sized room. Decor was
outdated buy my mother liked it, kind of like staying at
your grandmas house (funny smell and all). Overall the
hotel was fine, the beds were ok, the room was quiet and
spotlessly clean. If it wasn't for the staff we would
probably stay there again. Not only were we given the
wrong room (despite being assured by email that our
desired room type was available) but they gave us the
worst room in the place. The receptionist instead of
being apologetic was surly. We had to actually get cross
in order to get the room we booked even though it turned
out there were several suitable rooms available. She
wasn't the only one either the staff in general were
patronizing and aloof (except the cleaning staff who
were lovely, friendly and did a wonderful job).

We arrived in Victoria for a one night stay from
Vancouver. The hotel looks unimpressive from the outside
but inside it is really good and has excellent
facilities.
Positives:
Amazing pool and hot tub downstairs- just the two of us
in it aswell! Excellent!
Lovely room- big and clean.
Free Internet wireless connection.
Brilliant location, right near the water.
Good TV if you're interested in that.
Easy, quick check-in.
Negatives
Can't really think of any to be honest- we really had no
issues on our one night stay. We stayed at 4 hotels in
Canada and I think this was the best one of the lot!
Would recommend!

My husband and I stayed at the Royal Scot for the second
time in early September. We stayed for 6 nights and
enjoyed every single minute of our stay there. We were
fortunate enough to have stayed in the Royal Suite on
the 4th floor and it was the most comfortable room we
have stayed in for a very very long time. This room had
a lovely large living room with a balcony, a great
little dining room, a perfect (and I mean perfect)
kitchen with everything needed to cook a complete meal,
a spotless bathroom with upgraded fixtures etc and a
wonderful large bedroom with the most comfortable king
bed we have ever slept on. The bedroom also has a TV and
a little sink and make-up area separate from the
bathroom. There are lots of beautiful lamps in the suite
and lots of windows as well. The room was spotlessly
clean. I can hardly wait to stay at the Royal Scot
again! Oh, by the way, they will also drive you to the
downtown area and back anytime you like, day or night.
They couldn't be more accommodating.
Thank you to everyone there for making our stay so
wonderful

We picked this hotel from trip advisor and it was great.
They pick you up at the bus station on arrival and take
you back on departure. It was conveniently located
within walking distance of downtown. The suites were
very comfortable and we would recommend this hotel very
highly. A nice quiet location and a well-appointed
hotel.

You can walk from the ferry dock here in just a few
minutes, dump your bags off and be at the Parliament
building, the bus terminals for sightseeing tours or the
shopping district after just a short walk.
The hotel itself was great. Clearly not updated
recently, but it didn't matter. It's not unattractive,
it was clean, the rooms were huge and everything was
functional. It was great having a full kitchen.
Staff was really nice and helpful.
