The cons/minor hiccups:
The lodge had been undergoing some renovations, but when we booked we'd been
assured the pool and hot-tub would be open. This was 2 months before our arrival
This was important to us, as the hot-tub is always a big part of the girls'
weekend :)
However, when we arrived, we found out the pool and hot-tub were still closed.
We were disappointed, and we'd have cancelled our reservation and booked
elsewhere if we'd known. The desk clerk was unhelpful and unapologetic. We asked
if we could use the pool and hot-tub at the sister property, but were told we
couldn't "for insurance reasons". The service we received from the desk was,
overall, indifferent. We got the impression they didn't care whether we were
there or not.
Also, because of the renovations there were tarps on parts of the building. The
first room we were given had a big blue tarp completely covering the window. We
ended up moving rooms and got one without a tarp, but it was a bit of a hassle
even though the lodge wasn't very full (shoulder season).
The room is a bit on the small side; for the two of us staying in the living
room, there wasn't a lot of space for our bags. The dining room and kitchen area
are tiny too, so preparing meals can be a bit of a dance. Definitely cozy!
Very minor point, but kind of funny... The toilet in the main bathroom was,
inexplicably, installed about 2 feet out from the wall, and on an angle. Very
odd. It kind of looked like a chair that's been pushed out out from the table;
we felt like we should be able to push it back where it should be :)
Overall, the location was pretty quiet (considering it's in the Village), but
the walls between rooms are a little thin; we were woken up at 3 am by our
partying neighbours returning to their room (although they did quiet down pretty
quick).
Parking is very expensive - I think we paid about $20 per day, for self-parking
underground.
Overall though, the issues we had were minor and don't reflect on the hotel
overall. We'd definitely stay again.

We stayed at the Mountainside Lodge for Thanksgiving with my family. We had 3
loft rooms and had a great time. Check in was a breeze and the hotel staff were
efficient and very friendly. The hotel is right beside the Pan Pacific hotel in
the village. Once we got passed the dingy hallways, we were presently surprised
with our clean, spacious loft room. It had a gas fireplace, plenty of seating
for our family gatherings, the loft bed was most comfortable and it even had a
sauna! We made our Thanksgiving dinner in the room and it had everything we
needed..... cutlery, dish cloths, dishes, utensils, baking dishes, dish soap for
the dish washer, etc. My only complaint was that the hot tub was closed for
renovations, even though the website said it would be open at the end of
September. But oh well. We got each room for $103 per night and had a fantastic
time. We would definitely stay here again! Booked with
www.allure-hotels.com for a great rate! This hotel has everything you
need in the room. We had a suite with the murphy bed.

This is my third stay at the Mountainside Lodge Hotel Whistler. I have always reserved a loft suite. It is
very spacious with a bedroom and washroom upstairs in the loft. On the main
level there is another washroom, a sitting area and a kitchenette. It is huge
for one person and would be comfortable for four. The service at check in and
check out was very good. The only problem I encountered was with my key not
working and I had to get it recoded. I found the desk staff to be less than
friendly, but I didn’t really care too much as she was only re doing the key and
not having to do too much more. This was a minor difficulty and it would not
influence my staying there again. Altogether a very pleasant stay and we found a
very reasonable rate on

We booked this hotel the night before we left Kamloops, for one night, to drive
to Vancouver for a family get together. We got a good discounted price on-line
but didn't know what to expect as it was last minute. Lloyd on reception was
very pleasant & helpful, he was training a new guy so apologised that he was
taking longer to book us in & asked if we minded him showing Martyn how
everything worked. No problem. We were impressed by the room (212) the moment we
opened the door. The room was well appointed, clean & cosy. The fold down bed
was a novelty but very comfortable. We were overlooking the pool area & the
pedestrian street into the village so there were a few people shouting on their
way back from the bars but hey-ho it's an activities resort. The location was
ideal mere minutes from the village & the lifts. My partner wanted to stay
another night but we already had reservations in Vancouver so we headed off.
Only grumbles: the fridge was a bit noisy & $16 per night to park is a bit steep
but it is reasonably secure & Whistler itself is expensive. We'll probably go
back there again if we are in Canada & passing through.

We stayed at the Mountainside Lodge Hotel Whistler for a night and the location was awesome as it wad right
next to the central village. The room was cozy but not too small and it
wad great having the kitchenette to cook our own meals.
The electric kettle however was sketchy ad it wouldn't turn off after
you plugged it in. We informed the hotel staff and they quickly fixed
it.
Great kitchen amenities as it had all of the basic tools. Cooking range
and oven with an exhaust fan, toaster, microwave, and do forth.
Murphy bed was ok to sleep on and in the kitchen area had a hidden sofa
bed in it. Weird!!!! Would be ok to use if you had little kids.
Only real complaint was the fridge was too loud when sleeping. I just
turned the knob inside and set it it level 2.
