Hotel Review of the Pan Pacific Hotel Whistler Village Centre
Feb 13, 2011
Just returned from a week at the Pan Pacific Village Centre and this is really
an excellent property. Very central location - much quieter than the PP
Mountainside (which is right next to some of the noisier apres bars) but only 2
minutes from the heart of the village and still with the convenience of being
able to store skis, boots etc. right at the base of the mountain. Our room was
comfortable and spacious, with a small but well equipped kitchen and a nice
seating area with gas fire separate from the bedroom. Bathroom again on the
small side but perfectly adequate with shower and bath and if that doesn't work
for you there's two hot tubs and a pool on site. We appreciated the flexibility
of hotel service with the self catering option provided by the kitchen area.
What really sets this property apart though is the quality of its staff -
nothing was too much trouble, everybody was really friendly and any minor
problems were sorted out in minutes (literally!). Only downside was the strength
of the Canadian dollar vs Sterling - made this a much more expensive holiday
than our last trip to Whistler in 2005. But PP still represents good value.
Highly recommended!

This is our first skiing holiday in Whistler. We had booked a studio suite but
got upgraded to a singe suite mountain view. That was great. All the hotel staff
were very helpful. The view from the room was excellent, overlooking the
mountain. The only little drawback was, it was facing the fire station, you
could hear the siren going on in the middle of the night. But who cares, after a
long day of skiing, sleeping was not a problem.
The kitchen was fully equipped with microwave, stoves, dishwasher, and all
cutlery needed to cook a decent meal.
You also get a ski locker over the Mountainside, we practically ski in and ski
out.
I will definitely return next time.

Our family of 2 adults and 2 children aged 12 and 10 had an awesome stay in a 2
bedroom suite on the 6th floor with mountain views. The PP was fantastic, we
loved the outdoor heated spas and pool after a long day skiing. The staff were
friendly and happy to accommodate any requests. Laundry room facilities were
good. The full breakfast in the morning was a perfect start to the day. Skiing
was incredible. Great internet access in room and the full kitchen clean and had
everything you need. Only had room service once, and seemed fairly limited Asian
type cuisine, but still nice. Looking forward to skiing again in Whistler and
would stay here again. Great restaurants Earls and Kegs just outside the front
door.

We stayed here for 1 week from 3 January. Check in speedy and informative, check
in girl VERY friendly and helpful. Room clean, well appointed, good amenities,
good size. Bathroom good size too. We didn't use pool or fitness facilities but
they looked reasonable and lots of people were using them, even though it was
winter! First morning breakfast was good but nothing was labelled which I found
extremely strange, however for the rest of our stay everything was labelled and
kept clean - the difference, the boys were on duty our first day, the very
efficient friendly Aussie girls were on the rest of our stay and kept things
ship shape!! Thanks girls, sorry, didn't get your names! And breakfast was
always yummy and more than adequate and juice boxes were handy to take on the
slopes!
Ate at nochi one night and the food was the worst food we've come across in our
6 weeks of our extended holiday all over the USA! Advise you to stay away from
their restaurant! Other than that, can't fault the hotel or it's friendly staff
in both pan pacific's! Would return without hesitation any time!

We have stayed at the Pan Pacific Village Centre 4 times now, and have always
been pleased with the hotel and staff. The staff have always been helpful and we
look forward to spending more holidays with them in the not too distant future.

Our family of 5, stayed at Pan Pacific Village for 16 days over Christmas. We
stayed in a 2 bedroom apartment on 3rd floor (we were given a corner suit which
gives you a little extra room) and it was perfect. The room itself is lovely (5
star) was a good size for our family and has a fully self contained kitchen
(even bought in a slow cooker for me to assist with a meal!) The service at
front desk and housekeeping and management was outstanding, nothing was to much
hassle for them. They were friendly, accommodating and professional. (special
thanks to Roxy!). The Village is in a great location, it is in a quiet spot
however you are still only steps always from everything's. The hotel allocates
you a locker at Mountainside (at base of gondola) to store your ski gear. We
would simply walk over each morning and to put on ski boots pick up ski gear
which is far more comfortable then walking around with ski boots! The ski valets
at the locker room are wonderful (Andrew was very helpful) with the daily
routine. Whistle itself was amazing we arrived 13th December to 2 metre of fresh
snow over the 16 day stay and up until the 23rd no lift lines. Highly recommend.
Look for specials direct on Pan Pacific site or email them direct. The room rate
includes full breakfast and the hotel provides a private shuttle if you need
transport around village

Dec 2010
We recently stayed a week at the Pan Pacific Village Centre with our college
aged children. The location was ideal, the breakfast buffet ample and delicious,
the staff gracious, the rooms well appointed and clean. When we checked in we
asked about activities which Ashley at the front desk immediately booked for us.
It was so nice to arrive and not worry about a thing, all we had to do was show
up. The kids had plenty to do from skiing, to snow shoeing, to rock climbing and
the zip line, and enjoying the Dub Linn Pub on their own. The fully equipped
kitchen made it easy for a quick lunch or a cozy evening meal. The hotel is
located within minutes of activities, restaurants and shops, while remaining
quiet at night. The staff made sure our stay was perfect addressing every need
quickly. More than anything I commend the staff, the hotel is great, the
location fabulous, but without the cheerful staff it would just be another nice
hotel. We would definitely recommend the hotel to anyone wanting the perfect
family vacation
The Pan Pacific graciously up graded us when they oversold their sister property
at the Pan Pacific Mountainside. The upgrade was significant: from a one-bedroom
mini suite to a two bedroom apartment with about 1000 square feet of living
space.
