Hotel Review of the
Cascade Lodge Whistler

I stayed at the Cascade Lodge for a week at the beginning of October.
The check in staff were amazing, smiling and wishing you a good morning
every day. The room was amazing - one bedroom, full kitchen with
dishwasher, bathroom with laundry and a pull out couch. It was perfect
for my friends and I - both the queen bed and pull out couch were
100%comfortable. The balcony had an amazing view of the mountains and
pool with two hot tubs. The noise was minimal (just close your windows
if you don't want to hear the kids jumping in to the heated pool). The
hot tubs and pool were cleaned every morning. The staff had awesome
recommendations of where to eat and what to do. The village was close
enough to walk to for nightlife, yet far away enough that you didn't
hear everything going on in the village. I cannot wait to come back
here. I loved it so much, I'm thinking of moving to Whistler.

The price was right and good ambiance
The bed was advertised as a queen but it felt more like a double. Loved
the fireplace and kitchen. Great view from the deck (although small).
Good quiet location and close to village. No maid service or ice
machines but Freezer was capable of making ice in time. The one bedroom
was a nice feature. The wireless internet worked well. All in all, I
would definitely return.

Great place to stay
We love this place. We stay here every year. It’s close enough to
downtown Whistler but far enough away from the noise. It’s only one
block to walk. It’s a beautiful place. The pool and hot tub area is the
best we have found in the area. Would highly recommend.

I think that if the Cascade could have made it stop raining for us, they
would have. Every question I had they tended to it. The location of this
facility is perfect. A stone's throw from all the action, but far away
enough so that it is quiet at night to sleep. Also, can drive right up
to the door and unload all your gear. They even had a bike room to keep
your bikes. Our room was just a suite, but had a really comfy bed (like
a nest), nice TV, window overlooking the pool (room 314 - even sided
rooms had a better view), perfect kitchenette area with refrig, cooktop,
sink and the bathroom was a good size. It was all very clean and
tastefully decorated. Parking garage was easy to get in and out of and
spacious to park. Felt very safe here. A fireplace in the lobby was nice
because our room didn't happen to have one (although I peeked into the
suites and Mama Mia they were nice!) You just have to realize that they
keep their costs down as there is no daily maid service (which was fine
because they provide extra towels if you go to the pool/hot tubs) and
you need to bring down your own trash when you leave. It was not a big
deal. Also, they take a $250 security deposit just in case you trash the
room. Which we didn't - and I pointed out to them even the tiniest of
defect to be sure I wasn't charged the $250. A couple of items in our
room didn't work and they VERY promptly had them fixed (a burner switch,
etc.). The pool and hot tub area were amazing. We were there in off
season, and we were usually the only ones there. I imagine in winter the
pool area is hopping. I dream of being back in that pool.

If you have to go to Whistler, stay here. You won't regret it - unless
you are a 20-something looking for a drunken brawl. If you are looking
for a good hotel experience this is the place. I imagine that if you had
4 people in your room, it would be a downright bargain. We felt it was
extremely reasonably priced for what you got. I found the best deal
through www.allure-hotels.com.

We were told that, "this is a family resort" when we complained about
the screaming children in the pool. Plus, the pool area is not open
until 10am so if you wanted to catch a quick hot tub before the lifts
open at 10am... NO.

We spent 3 nights at the Cascade Lodge, and had a really good time. The
underground parking spaces are bigger than any I've seen in Whistler
(sounds minor, but try parking your SUV loaded with bikes or skis in
some of the hotel lots!), the pool is big and surrounded by attractive
landscaping and grass, and the location is ideal -- a minute's walk from
the village, but away from the noise of late-night Whistler. Each of the
units are individually owned so they'll differ slightly -- ours was
showing some wear and tear (carpets and furniture a bit shabby) but was
spotlessly clean and very well equipped. We cooked one dinner and had
everything we needed to make it. Washer and dryer in the unit was
helpful after a sudden thunderstorm, and would be a real asset in ski
season. No restaurant onsite, but plenty within minutes - maybe not
ideal for someone who likes to be catered to, but as a base for
exploring and relaxing, it's terrific.

Great location for access to the village, golf course, etc but don't
stay here in summer if you are a light sleeper. First night we were on
the mountain side facing the pool (great views) but lots of noise from
people coming and going from the village (mostly drunk!). First studio
was also tiny. Got moved to a larger, forest facing studio for night 2,
better but still lots of noise form HWY 99 which is really close by.
Great pool (but no pool towels available). Exercise room only opens at
10 and most of the equipment is bust. Odd to have to take out your own
garbage. Anyhow, this place wasn't great for us and we'll stay in the
upper village or Creekside next time.

Was a great value and very friendly service and very close to the
Village. With the central village location and the full kitchen, our
family of 4 loved both eating out and cooking in before a dip in the
warm or hot pools. There was so much to do, we can't wait to go back.

My husband and I stayed at the Cascade last week for 3 nights and we
were very pleased with the accommodations. As prices go in Whistler,
it's definitely not high end, but you get all the benefits of location
without the price. Walk across the street and you're in the village, so
if there were crowds, this would be a much quieter place to stay. The
rooms were quite nicely sized and the kitchen was supplied with all the
basics; the bathroom was decent and everything looked well maintained.
The patio was so small as to not really be usable, but other than that
it was a nice set-up. Bring a swimsuit for the indoor pool and hot tub.
If you are looking for a fairly priced hotel in a high-priced location,
that's the place!
