Hotel Review of the Crystal Lodge Hotel Whistler
Jan 7, 2011
We stayed here for 5 nights over Christmas with our two kids (aged 11 & 14) and
we had a loft room. The location of this hotel is fantastic, but it can be noisy
sometimes at night. Of the 5 nights only on one was I woken up by revellers
outside in the village. The loft room was great, but not as roomy as I would
have hoped for 4 people with lots of luggage. Having the kitchen/dining area was
handy for breakfast and lunch so we could get an early start on the slopes. The
only thing that would be a great addition to the Crystal Lodge would be a drying
room in the rooms or on each floor as 4 sets of ski clothes drying on chairs etc
takes up a lot of space. I think the Crystal is very good value for money,
especially for a family.

Has it all - clean, comfortable, friendly, spacious, great prices, and right by
the gondolas and the center of Whistler Village.
Stayed in a King Suite room, 2 adults and 2 kids. Room size was adequate given
bulk of time spent on the slopes, with a King size bed and open area with a
pull-up queen bed, small kitchenette (fridge, sink, microwave). Comfortable
enough for breakfast in the morning and downtime after day on the slopes.
Overall a quiet hotel, but my only issue was the refrigerator in our room that
was constantly running - even after lowering the cold setting.
Location is excellent, just off the Whistler/Blackcomb gondolas (but not
ski-in/out) and by the restaurants and stores of the Village. The hotel has free
ski valet in the basement of the ski rental center underneath the Longhorn bar (ie.
by the slopes) so you don't have to carry your skis back and forth.
Wi-fi internet is free but you need to renew your password daily by calling the
front desk.
Parking is $20 a day, we parked the car and never touched it for our whole stay.

Thank you for taking the time to share you experience. I am glad you enjoyed the
room, the amenities in the hotel and our great location. Whistler has been
enjoying a great snow year- so that helps as well ! Thanks for the note on the
refrigerator setting, our maintenance team is reviewing this as I type this.
Hope to see you here again soon.
Best Regards

Cannot praise this hotel enough, the location is fantastic right in the middle
of the village stroll, we stayed in the lodge wing and had a one bedroom
apartment it was super, fully equipped kitchen, lovely seating area, jacuzzi
bath. The nicest thing is it is really relaxed and there are a number of
entrances so you can come and go really easily. Staff were all lovely and
friendly and on a colder evening its lovely you can get to the Spaghetti Factory
without leaving the warmth of the hotel. All in all fantastic !!

We stayed at the Crystal Lodge Hotel at the end of July 2010. Three adults
looking for a comfortable hotel room with a good location. Our room had two
double beds and a fold out couch for a third double bed. The hotel location is
right in the village. Great location for restaurants, bike rentals, and the lift
up the mountain.
FYI, the room card also acts as the security pass in the elevator. We didn’t
have a balcony but some rooms did. Also, the underground parking was extra …$20.
Friendly Aussies are working the front desk and they were very helpful. If you
don’t want to stroll the Village walk, there are restaurants right in the hotel.
I found the beds to be comfortable and the room was clean. Best location of any
hotel and I would definitely stay here again fore sure.

Whistler has so many hotels to choose from, and we chose the Crystal Lodge based
on research and reviews we'd read. We weren't disappointed, but we weren't blown
away either. This is a fairly standard hotel with a decent sized room, big bed
and balcony, however the bath is tiny and you wouldn't want to spend much time
in the room (I suppose for an activity resort, that's the idea!). If you aren't
expecting too much, you will be satisfied with the Crystal Lodge. I found the
best deal through www.allure-hotels.com.

We just returned from a fabulous weekend in Whistler staying at the Crystal
Lodge - we upgraded to a suite with a Murphy Bed-overlooking the Village Stroll
- NOT RECOMMENDED!!! we had the worst sleep - the mattresses totally sucked -
even though they tried to accommodate us as far as adding extra padding and a
board under the bed it was still lousy-you couldn't help but slide into the
center of the bed and i swear i felt every damn spring in that bed - both my
husband and myself could not leave fast enough Sunday morning as we walked
sideways from our backs being in such rough shape - they tried to give us
another room with a Murphy bed but that didn't work it was just as bad - we
should have stayed in our original assigned room and not upgraded - what
disappointed me the most was i thought for sure they would give us at least one
night free upgrade but they didn't. One last thing - be prepared to pay
$20.00/day to park in their underground parking-otherwise, we had a great time -
minus the sore backs

Crystal Lodge has the BEST location in Whistler, right in the centre of the
village. The one bedroom king size room was large and the Jacuzzi tub the best.
We would definitely stay here again!!!

Great location in the lower Village, minutes to the Gondola. Booked on Hotwire
and got a rate of $84 US. The only downside was that there was no free internet
access in the rooms, although WiFi was free in the lobby. There is only one
computer in the business centre, so if you want to use it to check your email,
might have to wait. Front desk service was very helpful and friendly and the
restaurant in the hotel (Ric's Grill) was very good with a 3 course dinner for
$35. |
