Great hotel, good location, amazing value. The rooms look to have been newly updated, soaker tub with jets, large Queen size bed in the loft and pullout couch in the living room. Beautiful Kitchen, fully stocked. Would definitely stay again!

We stayed two nights over the August long weekend and were quite pleased with our stay at the Executive Inn. The location is excellent, you walk outside directly onto the Village Stroll. It can be a bit noisy at night, but hey, that's Whistler - I always bring ear plugs so I was OK.
Loved having the balcony to sit out and have my morning coffee.
A well equipped kitchenette made making the occasional snack and lunch very easy. Bedding was lovely and the little living area was very comfortable. I don't know if I would recommend this hotel to families with young children, the loft bedroom has no guard railings and it would be very easy for a young child to fall to the floor below. I would suggest to management that some sort of guard rail be installed in at least a few units to accommodate families with small children.
We arrived early and a parking pass ($15) was available, although we could not check into the room until 4 p.m. From previous posts here, I gather that we were lucky to get this underground parking.
One small negative - I realize that check in time is clearly stated as 4 p.m., as it is with most hotels. We travel very frequently and often arrive at our hotel before that time - I can't remember a time in recent history that we have not been offered a room upon arrival. I am always surprised and very impressed when this happens as well as being most appreciative. Hotels that have offered this to us always stick in our minds and are always on our list as repeat stays.
The Executive Inn did not offer us a early check in, clearly emphasizing that check in would not be before 4 p.m. There is lots to do in Whistler and since we had parking we were not too upset. I did notice, on our second evening there that there were many tired, angry looking guests waiting in the tiny lobby for 4 p.m. check in. Since we noticed that there were rooms that had been cleaned or were in the process of being cleaned fairly early in the morning (around 10 or 11 a.m.) I can't see the reason for such a rigid check in policy.

Management response from Executive, General Manager

We thank you for your review and your suggestions. I’d like to let you know that the guard rails in the lofts have been looked into and a design is in the works right now and will be installed soon. Regarding the 4pm check-in which is a standard time in Whistler, we do ask that you check back with us anytime and we will always get you in as soon as the room is ready or you can give us your cell number and we can call you. I apologize if our communication broke down this time, that will be rectified. I look forward to seeing you again on your next visit to Whistler.

The wonderful experience at the Executive was the cornerstone of our magical weekend at Whistler. Jessica, the check-in specialist with whom we had most of our dealings, was gracious, Super helpful, friendly, accommodating and just a general joy to be around! You go, Jessica!! Thank you for everything! The room was lovely, comfy and modern. The restaurant was top notch and the Inn's location was excellent.

This hotel is right in the village, which was exactly what we wanted.
Cons: The lobby is tiny and there's no pool (which would have helped in July!). Parking, this is the biggest problem. There are not enough parking spots for the number of rooms, so we had to park in Lot 4. There is no fitness centre or room service, but there is a lot of mountains outside to get exercise, and there are restaurants a stone's throw from the hotel, so not problem there.
Pros: Right in the mix of things, walk out the door and there is the village stroll
The room was great, kitchenette, nice bathroom, fireplace, large balcony which we sat out on and people watch and listened to music from the jazz bar downstairs.
The room was clean and everyone was friendly.
There is a bit of noise from the loads of bachelor and bachelorette parties, but hey! you're right in the heart of the village, and there is more noise at my place in the city, so it didn't bother me.
There's a nice wall mounted flat screen above the wood burning fireplace, but we didn't use either of those, so I can't comment on them, but they looked nice.
We'll be back!

My first ever trip up to Whistler in the 28yrs I've lived in Vancouver, so I was excited. I had heard from a friend who had stayed here about the parking situation here so I was prepared. Parking is an issue here, if you can leave your car parked do so because you WILL lose your spot! They need to get more parking spaces (like one for maybe each of the rooms you provide at your hotel would be a start).
The hotel itself was nice enough, well decorated and situated on the Village Stroll. It was nice to walk out to the main shops and restaurants. We also were maybe a 5min walk from the Whistler Golf Course which was nice since we had a twiglight tee time.
If you stay in a regular room like us there's a nice sleeping area with big tall ceilings, it is kind of small but nicely decorated, and has a small fridge and coffee maker. There is a small closet, a blow dryer but you will have to request an iron. The ironing board is lumpy with a really thin cover so there's no point using it unless they upgrade it. The bathroom was the most RIDICULOUS thing we have ever seen. You can literally use the toilet and take a shower at the same time! There is a lip to prevent water from flowing onto the hallway carpet but you will probably need to build a towel wall to prevent that from happening anyways because they didn't angle the floors to the drain, so you have a pool by the end of your shower.
To top things off! On one of the hottest weekends of the year so far our air conditioning was busted in our room so we did NOT enjoy our sleep (or lack thereof). We mentioned it to the front desk the next morning and her response was this:
"oh really, well we've had guests asking for fire logs lately" (implying everyone else's air conditioning units were working)
How about apologizing and doing something to compensate our horrible night stay, Executive Inn? But nothing! Poor service! I've stayed at cheaper hotels and had better service than this place. My recommendation, go stay at the Aava! We could've gotten a room there for cheaper and probably less trouble and better service
