We stayed at the Aava this winter, and were very pleased with our stay. Clean
rooms, comfy bed, and perfectly located close to the village yet quiet due to
being set a couple of streets back from the village square. The hot tub was nice
and warm, perfect after a day on the slopes. Lack of restaurant in the hotel was
not an issue for us as we wanted to eat out in the village.
Booked early and got a great price, we will definitely stay here again next time
we visit. Roll on next season!

My wife and I with our two teenage children stayed for ten days in the Aava in
Whistler and had a great stay. As a family we think that Whistler really is the
best ski resort bar none and have stayed in several hotels all being excellent.
The Aava however surpassed them all. Close to the lifts and village centre, the
hotel was extremely well kept, the staff very helpful and the hotels amenities
well up to standard. Although the Aava has no restaurant the excellent White
Spot is just across the road and offers excellent food and good value.
As the locals say .......awesome!

We have just returned from a memorable 7 night trip to Whistler. The Aava Hotel
was just what we were looking for, and exceeded our expectations compared to
European Ski Accommodation. The room was great with modern furnishings, there
was no kitchen but this was no disadvantage as we were within a short walk to
all of the restaurants and cafes. We found the staff extremely friendly and
would go out of the way to assist us.
We had a great half term break and will definitely be back next year.

We stayed at the Aava with our two teenage sons just before Christmas. The
location of the Aava is fantastic! Just literally across the street from the
main village, it takes just a few minutes to walk over to the Village Gondola
and Starbucks is just around the corner. The hotel is more European, meaning
very comfortable, but what you need and not more.
Parking is ample, but don't try to park in the underground garage with a Thule
on top! We had no probem with noise at all. The rooms, while comfortable and
very clean, are almost too small for my family (two teenage boys). They do have
a small frig and a coffee maker.

Aava Whistler is a new hotel. From a newly built hotels you expect a certain
standard, especially at the prices they charge. Unfortunately Aava does not live
up to these expectations, in many ways.
What really brings the impression down is the paper-thin walls and doors between
rooms. It feels ridiculous when you think there are people in the hallway all
the time and realize that the people you are hearing are those in the room next
to you. Not a thing went on in that room that we did not hear, nothing. And when
the maid was vacuuming outside our room it sounded like she was next to our bed.
In a brand new hotel?!
The hot tub was foamy all the time, a sign that it is not in balance chemically,
so we made sure to stay out of it.
We really wanted a nice and cozy lobby to sit and relax in, but in its efforts
to create some kind of modern "ambiance" the decorator has lost all the feeling
by lighting the place up with cold, non-inviting lighting. This could be fixed
with a major investment in new lighting for the whole lobby area.
Service was ok, nothing less, nothing more. We really missed a place to have
breakfast in that is not the White Spot. Crowded and not worth the money is the
verdict, take the trouble to walk a few extra steps to get more for your dollar.
Also, next time we would choose to stay closer to the lifts. This place is just
a little bit too far away for it to be comfortable to carry the skis, I am glad
we did not bring the kids!
Lastly, another comment on this newly built hotel. This is Canada. Cold place.
Why in heavens name is a NEW hotel not equipped with well-insulated windows, at
least three-pane glassed? Why does the shower have the old, wasteful shower head
that has only two settings - full flow or nothing? Why don't the rooms have
individual temperature control that is not dependent on an air conditioning unit
or windows that open? And finally, why on earth is the garage left open in the
middle of the winter?
It surely makes the stupid signs about saving your towels for a next day seem
both cynical and ridiculous.
I would not go back to Aava, main reason for this being the feeling of privacy
lost that comes with the thin walls and doors.

really enjoyed our trip to whistler while staying at the aava hotel. it's one of
the more modern hotels in the area, and we appreciated the sleek furniture. do
keep in mind that there is no restaurant/bar/room service, and the hot tub was
definitely jam-packed during our stay. didn't stop us though. they also offer
geocam's FREE to rent for the day for the slopes, so we got some great video
footage from our time on the mountain. the whistler village is easily
accessible, and even better when you cut through the hilton hotel! oh ya, and
free internet is always really nice! all hotels charge for parking, and this was
only $16/night (better than other places).
