Hotel Review of the
Holiday Inn Hotel Whistler
Feb 28, 2011
I am a Priority Club member and use Holiday Inn and its affiliates regularly so
I have a bias in their favour but that does not stop me from being objective
when it comes to good service and good value. The key here is the quality of the
staff. We were there a week and deal with a number of people, they were all
great but Tim and Laurel who we had the most to do with were exceptional.
The Hotel is well located in the heart of Whistler Village just off the Village
Stroll, close to a range of Restaurants. The well sized, warm and comfortable
rooms are located in a number of buildings around the plaza where the Village
Stroll takes a left turn.
As far as properties go this Holiday Inn is not better and no worse than may
others. The difference is the staff and the location. I will be back.

The location on the Village Stroll is excellent! Convenient to the slopes and
many places to eat. Kitchen has everything needed. In room washer and dryer was
super beneficial. The room was a average, but clean. Definitely can hear the
partiers on the street below at all hours of the night. Staff was very helpful
and polite.

My wife, son, and I picked the Holiday Inn because it was a great price and
still close to the chair lifts. The rooms were decent, the beds were
comfortable, and the village is just outside the hotel entrance.
Skis and snowboards are stored in the lobby area and can be picked up and
dropped off by asking the front desk staff.
The only downside to the location is the late night crowds wandering/stagging
back to their own rooms at midnight or 1am. If you have a window facing the
village, the area catches and reflects the laughter and shouting so you think
they are standing right outside your window when they are really half a block
away.
Overall this was a great place to stay for a great price.Hotel Review of the

Have stayed in all the front places ; this place not fancy but the right quality
in all the stuff : great bed , soft pillows , ski locker , free internet ,
totally central , hot hot tub (but inside), kitchenette high quality unobtrusive
. Shower not perfect , lacking sound insulating gasket on the door.

My husband stays here weekly for business. Most of the rooms have washer and
dryers and he loves that cause he works outside and can dry his clothes at the
end of the day. The rooms have nice Jacuzzi tubs. Great location, clean rooms.
It is not luxury but a good solid 3 star hotel

I've stayed at a few Holiday Inns before and they usually have a very good
friendly staff. But the staff there this weekend was just super! I'm new to
snowboarding and had a board that needed adjustments and everyone there was so
eager and happy to help me out with that. Danielle even went so far as to pretty
much adjust everything for me! The next day another person from their staff
helped me make some more adjustments. I definitely feel this is going above and
beyond their duties. The one thing about the first room we stayed in though was
that it had a dormer window that was not covered, so at night it let in a lot of
light in from the outside and made it hard to sleep. So at around 5am we finally
went to the front and asked if we could switch rooms and they let us move to
another room a couple rooms away that didn't have those windows with no other
hassles! Just super accommodating. The rooms where pretty spacious and stayed
pretty warm too which is nice. We had an electric fireplace, which was a little
disappointing, but the electric one still put out a lot of heat. Oh and the
kitchen and the washer and dryer in the room was an added bonus.

The staff at the Holiday Inn Hotel Whistler went out of their way to help us in any way they
could. The room was large and comfortable with a kitchen and the position of the
hotel in the center of the town was ideal. Paid parking in the hotel. We stayed
for two nights. At that time the temperature was outside +30C but in the room it
was cool!

My two teens and me had a good time to stay at Holiday Inn Whistler.
Convenient location to the lifts, restaurant and supermarket, as well as
shuttle bus station. We did have experience having young adults making
noise while passing our hotel at midnight. Besides that, it is the best
buy at Whistler. Full kitchen, Jacuzzi bath tub, even washer and drier.
We definitely will like to stay at this hotel for the next ski season.

I got the hotel room last minute on Priceline for 80$ before taxes and
all their other charges. Not bad for Whistler. BUT had I paid full price
for the hotel as advertised (started at 110$), I would've been an angry
puppy. They charged 16$ for parking (I don't care where I am, paying for
hotel parking is asinine). We also are non-credit card carriers. If we
don't have cash we don't buy it. Therefore, when they pre-approved 200$
on our debit card and didn't put it back for 4 days after our stay, it
put a cramp on the funds. Our fireplace didn't work. The only thing that
really made the stay was that we were running late check-out morning and
when I called and asked for a late check out (expecting a 1200pm
deadline), they offered me a free membership to something-or-other and a
2pm checkout time. That was really helpful and appreciated. Staff was
friendly and helpful. Parking garage is not attached to main hotel lobby
and that was kind of confusing.
