This was a really nice find. The pool and hot tub at Northstar are a big
size so you should never have to worry that it's overrun with kids. You
can also book through Resortquest or Whistler Superior properties but
there's really no difference in price. The difference is check in.
Because it's a condo, not a hotel, you can't always check in at the same
property you're staying at. This is the case here. The front desk is run
by Whistler Superior Properties. But I booked through Hotels.ca so I had
to go to The Aspens in Upper Village to check in (after being sent to
the Cascade first). Hotels.ca booking confirmation never said that check
in was at the Aspens. The parking is free, secure and has bike storage,
huge bonus in Whistler. It's all underground so make sure you look at
the map at the main building first so you know what building you're in
(A-F), then you have a sense of how close your assigned stall was to
your suite. Mine was right below the suite, couldn't be closer. I think
the layout is 1-bedrm main floor, 2-bdrm 2nd floor ( 2 stories so incl
3rd flr). Even so, my 1 bdrm was super quiet, the bldngs are all really
private, but all are close to pool. Had to pay for wifi so I didn't
bother. Fireplace didn't work either (maybe they shut it off for summer,
but it was cool at night, so would have been nice). If you book
privately you might get a BBQ, we didn't have one through the resort
booking. The location across from the grocery store and right along the
main bike trail was absolutely fantastic. So you are essentially right
in the village, but not listening to drunk rowdies after the bars close
which is a real problem in the village. The Stoney Creek Lagoons does
not have a pool. Sunpath does. Cascades is down the street and another
good choice because it's more hotel-like. However it could be more noisy
if you book on the highway side.Northstar At Stoney Creek Guest Reviews

We (family of 4 - two teens) recently stayed in Unit #90 – 4355
Northlands Boulevard, Whistler, British Columbia (1456) and had a
wonderful visit. The unit exceeded our expectations. The unit was
totally redone and is beautifully furnished/equipped. It was a 2 bedroom
unit (king and queen upstairs) with a pull out couch in the living room.
All beds were super comfortable. There was a full bathroom upstairs,
bathroom with shower and laundry downstairs. The unit had a well
equipped kitchen and a BBQ on the deck. The unit was well stocked with
shampoo, soaps, laundry detergent, kitchen equipment...there was nothing
other than groceries that we needed to purchase. Large 42 inch TV in
living room and a smaller TV in each bedroom - better cable than we have
at home. Short walk to the heated outdoor pool and hot tub and located
across the street from IGA grocery store. Also - wireless internet, IPod
equip and DVD player. You will have to walk up a flight of stairs to get
to the unit. We unloaded our stuff in the turn around and then parked in
the underground spot was is provided. Would love to stay there again.

We were very disappointed with our recent stay at Northstar. Main
reasons: NOISE from pool, even in the middle of the night. We called
security (off-site) four out of seven nights because of being awakened
by people in the hot tub.
Unfriendly Staff: The young man who checked us in was pleasant, but when
we had issues with the condo and spoke with the "manager" she was
unfriendly, reluctant to accommodate us, and gave us the general
run-around.
Outdated amenities: CABLE internet??? The cable would only reach to the
couch, so I could only use my laptop from one spot.
We'll make sure to stay in higher-rated accommodations in the future.

My husband and I stayed in unit #80 which was a one bedroom ground floor
unit. We were suitable impressed with the cleanliness of the unit and
the amenities provided within the suite.
If I had to express complaints it would only be that the stairs from the
underground parking are steep and narrow which makes bringing luggage
and supplies up to the ground level. There is a fire lane but it is not
accessible due to a barricade.
The bed was very hard.
The unit backs on to the main highway and although the bedroom is
towards the front of the unit, the traffic noise makes sitting on the
patio or having the patio door open not overly pleasant.
Overall, the Whistler experience was great but be prepared to pay for
it. There is a TD bank in the Market Place mall. Altogether a very
pleasant stay and we found a very reasonable rate on
