Review of the Pan Pacific Hotel Whistler Mountainside
Mar 5, 2011
This is our 3rd visit to this hotel and it's perfect for a stay in
whistler. The location by the gondolas is great and the room set up is
perfect for a family of four. I'm sure the chateau and 4 seasons are the
more upmarket choices but I'm not sure you can beat the pan pacific
overall. The service is very good and this year we my wife broke her arm
and the valet spent a lot of time ferrying us around - nothing was too
much trouble. Free wi fi and ski storage round it off.

This is our second stay at the Pan Pacific Mountainside. The location
cannot be beat. You are just a couple hundred feet to either gondola.
The rooms are nice and the kitchen makes it nice to eat in once in a
while. The staff is very helpful.
We had over a 100 inches of snow when we were there. It made for some
great skiing. The only draw back was we had a mountainside room and the
tractors started clearing snow around 4 a.m. So you don't need an alarm
clock if it is snowing.
The dining in Whistler village is really good with lots of choices. It
can get expensive if you plan to eat out all of your meals. There is a
small grocery store about 2 blocks away and the liquor store is next to
that.
The best location in Whistler if you want to be close to the activity.
You can watch the Fire and Ice show from the pool or jacuzzi.

The hotel is superbly located - base of both mountains. The staff are
very friendly, eager to help, knowledgeable and resourceful.
The Dubhlin Gate Pub has unbelievable food - it is clearly Whistler's
best kept secret because the food is well beyond "pub" food by a long
shot.

The Pan Pacific Mountainside hotel was the nicest hotel we have ever
been to in Whistler. everything is easily accessible. You are near to
all the breakfast restaurants and you are right next to the gondolas so
there is no walk. Also you can store your skis in there as well which is
very handy.
The rooms themselves are very nice with a fireplace, TV, air
conditioning (only if you need it), kitchen and bathrooms. They are very
cosy and comfortable and (if you are on the right side) have a view of
the Lower Olympic run so you can watch the other skiers as they finish
their day.
Overall a very comfortable hotel with excellent facilities, recommended.

What a magical place. Service is outstanding, food was great, the staff
is always ready to help you with a smile in their face, best of all is
the location, it just doesn't get any better in all whistler. We could
see the lifts from our window, walk to everything in the village, ski
school for the kids a minute walk, ski rentals right at the hotel. The
room is spacious with a little kitchen with everything you need. Pool
and spas clean and warm, the staff even brought cookies and milk for my
kids every night as a surprise! I cant recommend this place enough,
every penny spent here is way worth it. We cant wait until we can come
back.

Best location in Whistler. Beautiful rooms. Cheap rate (we were there in
the summer). Nice pool.
Found it a bit strange that the bed folded down from the wall! No
mention of that on the website...

Just returned from a 4 night stay in Whistler, and was very please with
the Pan Pacific Mountainside and was very pleased. The hotel is true ski
in ski out, when you walk out the rear door the main lift is right
there. There is also a ski rental place right in the hotel, as well as
lockers, and a ski valet.
The suites are nice and have a fully stocked kitchen, gas fireplace,
small balcony, Aveda products etc. The pool / spa area is on the second
floor, overlooking the mountain, which was very nice. The lobby is nice,
although small, and lacking a bit of the grand lodge feel you might
expect for a high end ski hotel.

We have just returned from 8 nights at Pan Pacific mountainside and
loved every minute. Although the hotel is a little older its location is
perfect right opposite the ski lifts and the staff very friendly and
helpful. The room was always very clean and well stocked. The hotel has
a lot of atmosphere and we met lots of friendly guests in the pool. The
kids loved the surprise warm cookies and milk each night!

Just returned from a week at the Pan Pacific where the family (parents
and 2 kids under 12) had a ball. Although the rooms aren't huge, the set
up for 4 in a one bedroom room is great. 2 big plasma TVs help, kitchen
is really well stocked for self catering (esp the big fridge) and
housekeeping are quite happy to make up the sofa bed everyday and pack
it away ready for the evening. The extras are what makes this hotel even
better. It is TOTALLY ski in ski out, and the walk from the ski lockers
to the snow is only about 30 metres (and usually, there is a concierge
there to help you carry stuff to the ski racks). 2 ski rental places are
in the lobby, and the Irish pub downstairs caters for kids. The pool and
hot tubs are excellent and overlook the runs. Best of all? The Cookie
Man! Yep, this is the cute guy who rocks up about 6.30pm every night
with milk and home made choc chip cookies for the kids (and did I
mention that he is extremely cute and probably wonders why all the mums
open the door for him - ha!!!). All in all, would recommend this place
to all families.
