We stayed here for a family function. The hotel was clearly dated but we weren't
planning to spend a lot of time there.
On the positive side, the room was clean, the pool was nice and both the
cleaning staff and the front desk staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful.
On the not so positive side, the air conditioner in one of our rooms didn't
work. We called to have it fixed only to be told that it was working fine and
just had to run a bit longer. When we explained it had been running a while we
were assured it just needed to run a bit longer. We returned to the room several
hours later to find the temperature hadn't changed at all. We called down to the
front desk to ask about it again and were shocked to hear the maintenance folks
had told them it was working fine. The front desk brought up a fan but it didn't
help much. The next day, the very rude maintenance man was back and finally
reluctantly acknowledged that perhaps it wasn't working correctly but said he
couldn't do anything and we could have another fan. He said they were "working
on it" but it never did work correctly in the time we were there. We were
offered a different room but it was a less desirable room type.
Avoid rooms overlooking the pool. People were VERY loud (and we were on the 3rd
floor) in the mornings and woke up us most days.
We also had terrible service at the restaurant. We went for breakfast one day
and waited 15 minutes for someone to take our order and after another 30 minutes
we finally had to leave even though our food had still not arrived.
Finally, the fan in the bathroom sounded like a jet engine trying to take off.
Another member of our family thought there was an issue with their room until
they heard the fan in both our rooms made the same sound. We ended up trying to
not turn on the lights in the bathroom (the fan came on automatically with the
light) just to avoid the noise.

Stayed here for three days and had a great time. We chose this hotel because it
was pet friendly and was a good value. Room was huge and very clean. We found
that the only time we heard any noise was when our neighbours closed their door.
The decor could use an update (the hotel is a pink/salmon colour.) Staff was
friendly and helpful. Will stay here again.

This is a restaurant only review, I did NOT stay here. The food was served
promptly and portions were average, however taste and quality wise I would say
"whatever".
Nothing about my dinner stood out or made me take notice and I probably would
not eat here again. NO opinion on staying here however the big inside pool looks
nice.

We have stayed at this hotel several times over the past couple years. It's
great for ball teams! The hallways are wide enough and the walls thick enough
that the noise of kids is distributed well. They have a neat pool/hot tub area,
courtyard style in the middle of the hotel which the kids always love. We return
because the price is right for group rate and we visit Surrey regularly for
fastball tournaments.
There is a restaurant on-site which has decent food but it's somewhat open and
next to the pool so can be noisy. There are staff but I don't think the place
ever gets busy enough to warrant more than 1 staff member so service is very
laidback, maybe order 2 drinks... lol
The rooms are a decent size. They have just started replacing the fat TV's with
skinnier LCD models which is great but the whole place needs to be modernized to
match other hotels in the area. The pink stucco was probably endearing at one
point but now out of date, they should offer free continental breakfast to
encourage people to return...
The staff are helpful and courteous but don't appear happy? The atmosphere is
kind of sombre, can't quite put my finger on it... |
